We never propose an architecture before reading the actual codebase. No "have you considered microservices" from people who have not opened src/.
Ship the smallest thing that proves the point

Tests are part of the deliverable
Every PR has the test that would have caught the bug we are fixing. Zero exceptions, no skip-this-just-this-one-time-please.
Defaults over flags
If a feature needs four flags to ship, it is not ready. We ship defaults that work and undo them if they do not, instead of leaving switches in the code.
Database before deck
Every architecture decision starts with the data model. If the data model is wrong, no amount of service boundaries fixes it.
Walk away after 90 days if it is not working
We commit in 90-day chunks. If after 90 days we have not moved your roadmap forward, you do not renew and we part on good terms.
