Privacy Policy
Ranklur (“Ranklur,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit ranklur.com or engage Ranklur as a client, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. It applies to information gathered through our website, our contact form, our analytics tooling, and any direct correspondence with our team. If you have any questions after reading it, write to us at hello@ranklur.com.
1. Data We Collect
We collect three categories of personal data:
- Form submissions. When you complete the contact form at the bottom of our website, the data is posted to our `/api/contact` endpoint. We receive the name, business email, phone number, and free-text message you provide, along with the timestamp of submission.
- Analytics cookies and pageview data. We use Vercel Analytics (via the @vercel/analytics package) to count pageviews, referrers, and rough geographic regions. Vercel Analytics is privacy-focused and does not use cross-site tracking cookies or fingerprinting; it stores a short-lived pseudonymous identifier to avoid double-counting the same session.
- Technical request data.Like every web server, ours receives your IP address, user agent string, referring URL, and the path you requested. We use this only to operate, secure, and debug the site — for example, to block abusive traffic patterns — and we do not combine it with marketing profiles.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use the data you submit through the contact form solely to reply to your enquiry, schedule discovery calls, and, if we begin working together, to manage the engagement. We use aggregated analytics data to understand which pages are useful, which need improvement, and which marketing channels drive qualified attention. We never sell personal data, never share contact form submissions with advertising networks, and never use your details to train language models or other machine learning systems.
3. Third Parties & Sub-processors
We share personal data only with the small set of vendors required to operate the site and respond to enquiries. Current and planned sub-processors are:
- Vercel Inc.— site hosting and Vercel Analytics.
- Resend (planned).— transactional email delivery for contact form notifications and reply threads.
- Google Workspace.— the inbox where contact form submissions arrive and where our team correspondence is stored.
Each vendor is bound by its own contractual data protection terms and is permitted to process your data only on our instructions. We will update this section when a new sub-processor is added.
4. Cookies
Our site uses a minimal set of first-party cookies and similar storage mechanisms. These are limited to the technical cookies required for the site to function and the pseudonymous identifier used by Vercel Analytics. We do not load advertising trackers, social media pixels, or cross-domain marketing cookies. You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings at any time without affecting your ability to read our content.
5. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data. We extend the following rights to every visitor, regardless of jurisdiction, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to access. Ask us what personal data we hold about you and receive a copy.
- Right to rectification. Correct inaccurate data we hold about you.
- Right to erasure. Ask us to delete personal data we are not required to retain.
- Right to object or restrict. Object to certain processing or ask us to pause it while a question is resolved.
- Right to portability. Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to opt out of sale. We do not sell personal data, so this right is honoured by default.
- Right to non-discrimination. Exercising any of these rights will not affect the quality of service you receive.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@ranklur.com from the address associated with the data. We respond within thirty days. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and are unhappy with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
6. Data Retention
We retain contact form submissions for up to twenty-four months after the last interaction so we can pick up paused conversations and maintain context across pre-sales discussions. Client engagement records, including statements of work, invoices, and project documentation, are kept for seven years after the engagement ends to satisfy US tax and accounting requirements. Server access logs and analytics events are typically retained for thirteen months. When the retention period ends, we delete or fully anonymise the data.
7. Security
We host on Vercel’s hardened infrastructure, force HTTPS site-wide, restrict access to client data on a need-to-know basis, and require multi-factor authentication on every operational account. No security control is absolute, but we use commercially reasonable measures and review them as the threat landscape changes.
8. Children
Ranklur’s Services are intended for businesses and are not directed at children under sixteen. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact hello@ranklur.com and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage or by email to active clients before they take effect.
10. Contact
For any privacy question, request, or complaint, email hello@ranklur.com or write to Ranklur, 137 Damon Rd, Suite B, Northampton, MA 01060, USA.
