Why SaaS Companies Lose Faith in SEO Agencies
The SaaS company has bought SEO services twice before. Both times, everything looked promising. The domain rating increased: backlinks appeared, and the quantity of them grew. Still, nothing changed for the company – in two quarters, the keywords that actually drove trials remained the same, traffic did not increase, and no one could explain why the growth of the metrics on the panel did not turn into revenue.
The reports from the SEO agency sounded convincing: maybe there were too many ranking factors and crawl budget issues, maybe they were just too early to see results.

What went wrong?
First, a significant part of the purchased backlinks is located on low-quality resources, which do not have organic traffic, and therefore do not affect the visibility of the page (according to Ahrefs statistics, such resources are significantly overrepresented in the backlink profile of most SaaS companies). Second, the SEO agency’s work is focused on the quantity of content rather than quality: it is being created for the sake of filling the page, and not for answering specific commercial questions.
